About
Hello! I’m Joanne, a Product Designer who also happens to have a special knack in programming. I'm a solution-oriented, problem-solving innovator looking to design visually-stunning, meaningful experiences and simple solutions for people. I’m a former educator, a head of a Design Technology and Computer Science department, a Harvard graduate, and a founder of two companies. Really, I’m just your everyday problem-solver with big dreams to create intuitive and delightful human-centric experiences.
Over the past decade, I have pursued many creative paths that have shaped me to be who I am today. My time as a product designer has trained my perspective to take every single creative and problem-solving detail into account. My years as a creative director and entrepreneur gifted me with the ability to surpass business goals while appreciating and advocating for clientele needs. My programming days taught me grit and sharpened my assets to solve problems strategically and intuitively. And my time as an educator grounded me to see that the pinnacle of any success is through empathizing and humanizing user experiences. All of these endeavors have emboldened me to this field of product design today where I strive to make actionable impact with the products I create.
I am imaginative and creative, open-minded and communicative, perceptive to people’s needs, and enthusiastic when it comes to new ideas and iterations. I always strive for originality and innovation, and although my conscientiousness to detail is what drives my work, I genuinely revel through every perfectionistic minute of it.
When I’m not working, you can find me at the beach catching a wave, trying out a new local brunch cafe, or working on an interior design DIY project that exercises my creative flair. Let’s connect over coffee – First cup’s on me!
